I've traveled to Siem Reap twice, and on both occasions (2009 & 2010) Vibol from Green Era Travel has organised my tours to Angkor Wat.

We find the study tour to Cambodia extremly well organized. We got the opportunity both to stay in a home and could follow a normal life in a Cambodian home. We also got the opportunity to study both the culture and also special study object that we had asked for. Well qualified guides. Good hotels.

We first used Vibol as a tour guide eight years ago. He took us to all the important sights around Angkor Wat and we were impressed by his knowledge and energy. On our first trip he made us aware of a primary school in Siem Reap. After we returned to the US, we sent supplies with his help to this school of 850 students and 12 teachers. Over the years many of our friends have joined us in helping the school and twice a year we now buy uniforms and supplies with Vibol's assistance as well as hiring an English teacher. During the time we have known Vibol, he has graduated from College, earned a Masters Degree in Business and Travel Administration, and has opened his own travel agency, Green Era Travel.
Vibol cares about his clients like they are family. He also cares about improving the lives of the children of Cambodia by giving back a percentage of his profits to education.

Vibol took my husband and me for just the day in Siem Reap. We wanted to visit a local school that we are involved with, and Vibol took us out there for the morning. But even more than that, he had already spent the weekend prior to us arriving, researching the best store for us to purchase a generator for the school. It saved us time going from place to place to find the right one to purchase. We also wanted to bring notebooks and paper supplies with us to the school, and he had already ordered everything on our list so we just went directly to the store and picked it up without having to search out the best place to buy it and wait for the order to be processed. After our visit to the school, he took us to Tonle Sap Lake for a tour. He had a boat and driver at the dock waiting for us and we had a wonderful early afternoon together.

How can I start? This was my first "organized" trip. I am a very independent person, I like to organize everything by myself, I use to travel in Europe by my own; but I thought it would be better that the trip to Cambodia to be arranged by an agency.

To be honest, I was a little bit afraid of the idea of having a guide, to have a fixed program every day. But all my fears flew away at the airport at Siem Reap when I first met Vibol: "Hello, my name is Vibol and I will be your guide for the next twelve days". He was not how I expected to be!

Vibol was a fabulous guide, very well organized, knowledgeable and helpful and very friendly. His competence, patience and fluent English highly impressed me. More that this, he understood from the first day what I wanted from that trip (just to know the country and understand its people and their history; no fancy places, no late waking up).

I can only recommend Vibol not only to my friends (who are now very jealous and are thinking about coming to Cambodia next year) but also to anyone who is not afraid of experiment something new.

Thank you GET and thank you Vibol for a unique and wonderful experience! I will definitely come back again very soon!
